CEDARPOINT RHODESIAN RIDGEBACKS
Stewart and Jacquie Dankner

Cedarpoint Rhodesian Ridgebacks is a registered kennel with the Canadian Kennel Club since 1997.

We have been involved in the breed since 1989, when we first joined the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Eastern Canada (RRCEC) and the Canadian Kennel Club. We are very active in the Ridgeback world, belonging to many clubs including the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS), and the Ridgeback Club of Western New York (RRAWNY). We are also founding and active members of the Association of Rhodesian Ridgeback Fanciers of Western Ontario (ARRF) and the Ridgeback Club of Canada (RRCC). Jacquie is the past secretary of RRCEC and is currently secretary of ARRF and RRCC. Stewart is past president of ARRF.

We got our first ridgeback in 1992 from Tudoridge Kennels, Ch. Tudoridge’s Oliver Cromwell, CGC, Am/Cdn CD. Next came Tudoridge’s La Quinta Am/Cdn CD, CGC in 1994. We put both thru obedience competition in Canada and the US. Cromwell did very well becoming #5 RR in the US in 1995, and both Cromwell and Quinta were #1 RR in Novice in Canada in 1995 and 1996.

We then decided to become breeders, with the intention to improve what we can and maintain the standard of the ridgeback as best we could. It was a year long process to find the “right” male, and we did. Quinta’s first litter was so successful, we did a repeat breeding a year later and were not disappointed. We kept a girl from the first litter, Am/Multi BISS Cdn Ch Cedarpoint’s Lady of the Lake, who became our little star. Doing very well in the show ring, and even winning regional
ridgeback specialties in 2000 and 2002 (BISS). Quinta produced many champions in both the conformation ring and the obedience ring, with champions in both Canada and the US. Her daughter, Kali, has now also produced champions in both the conformation and obedience arenas.

We believe in striving to maintain the standard, with temperament being the most important quality.
We are available to all our owners for support and advice thought the dogs lifetime, as it is a lifetime commitment for us. We breed occasionally and are particular to whom we breed with, using only those stud dog/ brood bitch owners who have the same ethics as we do. We will register all of our puppies, and have a return to breeder clause in case a problem arises and the owners can no longer keep the dog. It is important for us that our puppies go to the best homes possible. We believe in quality health testing of both sire and dam, and will test for hip and elbow dysplasia and make sure the thyroid is clear and free from disease before breeding to help ensure happy and healthy puppies. All our puppies are home raised and loved, with lots of socialization from an early age to help with adjustment to new homes.

We hope you will enjoy your lifetime with one of our ridgebacks.
